Interbooks

Changelog

What's new in Interbooks. New features, improvements, and the occasional bug squashed.

Receipt OCR is here

Snap a photo of a receipt and Interbooks fills in the vendor, date, and amount automatically.

We've shipped one of our most-requested features: receipt OCR.

Added

  • Receipt OCR — upload a photo from your phone or desktop and Interbooks extracts the vendor, date, line items, GST, and total. Confidence-scored fields highlight anything you should double-check.
  • Mobile capture — a new mobile-optimised receipt capture flow at app.interbooks.sg/expenses/capture.
  • Bulk receipt upload — drop a folder of receipts in one go.

Changed

  • Expense entry now defaults the GST treatment based on the vendor's previous transactions.

Spring 2026 release

Multi-currency forex auto-posting, redesigned bank reconciliation, and new GST F5 export.

This release is focused on speed and accuracy — bank rec is dramatically faster, and GST returns now require zero manual tallying.

Added

  • Forex auto-posting — unrealised forex gains and losses are now posted to your P&L automatically at period end, with the correct accounting treatment.
  • GST F5 direct export — generate a box-by-box F5 return that can be filed directly through myTax Portal.
  • Bulk invoice send — select multiple draft invoices and send them in a single click.

Changed

  • Bank reconciliation matching is now ~3x faster on accounts with thousands of transactions.
  • Redesigned the reconciliation review queue to surface "needs your attention" items first.
  • Improved CSV bank import to auto-detect column mapping for DBS, OCBC, and UOB statements.

Fixed

  • Recurring invoice schedules no longer skip the first day of the month for monthly cycles.
  • PDF invoice generation now respects custom letterhead margins on A4.
